Townes Hudson LeSueur

We are excited to introduce Baby Townes to the blog! He is such a beatiful baby boy and we are all in love with him. At first, Dot was a little hesitant...she was a lot more interested in being "at the doctor" and kept putting on gloves to check mummy's tummy.

but with Grandma Donnay's inspired gift (her own baby boy) she warmed up quickly. My favorite quote - "my present (pointing to her baby boy) and your present (pointing to baby townes) so true! Here is a first family portrait in the hospital.

When we got home, she spent time diapering and feeding her baby boy. And soon her attention turned to the real baby townes and the effatuation begins.

holding him for the second time, waiting for a playdate with Oliver

Dotty feeding baby Townes with what she thought was mummy's milk

Dotty is turning out to be the perfect big sister. She is so concerned with his diapering, his feedings, his burps. She loves to get me my nursing pads, and is of course obsessed with my medicine (she is my daughter afterall!). The first time she held him she said, "I love him so much". Too cute!

Pink Biolin

A couple of weeks ago we went to see my friend Alysha play violin at a ward party. She plays with her Dad's bluegrass band and they are pretty awesome. Needless to say Dot had a blast. Not only did she love hanging out with her best friend Luke, notice how close Dot and Luke are sitting to each other... but she loved dancing to the fun music. Now she won't stop talking about how she wants a "pink biolin".
But she also says, "I will play the pink biolin, and daddy will play a brown guitar, and mummy will play piano, and we will put on a show in front of a curtain!" Oh yes, Dot - one day for sure.

Young Cory

Wouldn't you fall in love with this guy? Circa 2000

5 days with Mummy

And she gets banged up good. This photo was before she fell face first from the rocks behind our house- creating a deep gash on her forehead, and a bruse on her cheek! She's one tough cookie.

Dot likes to pretend to read

while hanging out in her big kid underpants apparently...

Then the hip hop auditions start...

Then the ballroom auditions start,

or the "pretty dancing" as Dot calls it.

And it ends with lyrical? alternative? I don't really know. but Dot calls it "cool dancing"

Dotty Potty Days 2009

So I have three days off of work to accomplish a lot of organizing for the baby. Cory is busy finishing up some videos and so I have high hopes for things to get done with just me doing them. I've decided the most important thing is to potty train Dot. She is soooo ready, but I haven't had the follow through to get it done.
Today we started with a pantie party, her in her princess panties. It was going well, she sat on her potty for awhile and then gave up. Then she said her tummy hurt and she needed to go to the doctor (she says this a lot) and right after that she peed all over the floor.
Eureka!
When she says her tummy hurts she is really saying she needs to go potty. So we discussed that for A LONG time.
And now she pretty much gets it. I still need to remind her. But after her nap she woke up and said her tummy hurt and ran to the potty. We read a bunch of stories, and she went pee! I have confidence for the next two days. Wish me luck.
